Opening

The EASTGATE opened September 29th 2005.

EASTGATE with its around 150 shops is one of the biggest and most unusual shopping and experience venues in Berlin and anywhere in eastern Germany. The complex offers an attractive and cosmopolitan range of goods and services, with a strong fashion focus assured by the presence of large fashion chain stores as well as numerous leading label shops. Alongside the specialities and delicacies in the food lounge and the food speciality section, a wide range of food products are also available at a discount store and a supermarket. The selection of goods on offer is being rounded off by a large bookstore, two perfume shop and a consumer electronics market. Four light-flooded rotundas, a total shop window length of 1,600 metres, boulevard cafes, restaurants, fountains, water displays, a kids' world and an "event plaza" complete with open-air stage for events and sports activities further enhance the attractions and relaxing atmosphere of the location.

EASTGATE is centrally located at the junction of the main Märkische Allee and Landsberger Allee transport thoroughfares.

• By car: convenient access via the six-lane Märkische Allee (B 158) and Landsberger Allee highways as well as the Berliner Ring motorway (A10)
