Braunschweig

Shopping center projects in several cities are fuelling an investment boom in the inner cities. As is the case in Braunschweig, for example, where ECE will be opening the Schloss-Arkaden in 2007. A whole series of new projects are currently being developed at the Damm location.

Braunschweig is booming and fast becoming a trading metropolis. The decision to build the Schloss-Arkaden started a chain reaction for new investment.
Braunschweiger Zeitung on Nov 4, 2005

The city centre is gearing itself up for its new role of shopping metropolis for over a million people from the region. At the latest when the Schloss-Arkaden opens its doors to the shopping public in spring 2007, Braunschweig will regain its status as the number one shopping location between Hannover and Magdeburg. But the site on the Bohlweg road is not the only place in Braunschweig where companies are investing in the retail trade. It almost seems as if the announcement of plans to build the Schloss-Arkaden has unleashed a veritable construction boom, as numerous investors have decided to develop projects in Braunschweig in recent years.

Wetzlar

"I've taken a good look at the "Forum" shopping center that opened last February, and I've come to the conclusion that it's a good idea. It was obvious that the "Altstadt" (old city) quarter would have to reposition itself, but the two ideally complement each other. Wetzlar is now a town that's worth taking a trip to. It was the "Forum" that prompted Wetzlar to make a real effort – otherwise the town would have become just another also-ran."
Frank Albrecht, President of the Hessen Retailing Federation, FAZ newspaper on Feb 4, 2006

According to Economic Affairs Officer Peter Hauptvogel (FWG) and Rainer Dietrich, Managing Director of the Civic Marketing Association, the Forum also attracts customers from the outlying regions, people who have to date turned their back on the city centre. They say the success of the Forum also benefits other retail locations in Wetzlar.

Neunkirchen

Neunkirchen in the year 2006 – unthinkable without the Saarpark-Center. An image survey commissioned by the civic marketing association shows that 60 percent of all visitors from outside the town see Neunkirchen as being synonymous with the Saarpark-Center. The same is also true of many of the local inhabitants. No other institution or company plays a more important role in shaping the identity and image of Neunkirchen.

The Franken-Center managed by ECE acts as a focal point for the establishment of new markets.
Immobilien Manager on June 21, 2005

Günter Beckstein said the Franken-Center was still a vibrant and dynamic shopping center, describing it not only as the central marketplace in its city district but also as a location that holds major attractions for the inhabitants of the surrounding region.

Siegen

Sales up yet again: "Siegen is 'in' " – visitors gave the City-Galerie top grades in a recent survey.
Siegerland Kurier on March 20, 2005

The medium-sized town of Siegen is one of the locations that has profited from the trend in rental prices for retail premises – even if this is due to special circumstances. The shop rents in Siegen have risen from 32 to 50 EUR/m² within the space of a year. According to the RDM estate agents' association, this increase in rent levels is a direct result of the City-Galerie shopping center. The complex opened in 1999 has noticeably boosted Siegen's centrality index, and this is in turn due to the fact that shoppers from the surrounding region now view the town as being more attractive as a shopping location – leading to higher footfall and sales growth, and therefore also driving the demand for retail premises.
