One of Europe’s longest and most beautiful shopping malls celebrates its premiere: the shopping center "Hamburger Meile" in Hamburg opened on Wednesday April 28 the northern extension of the now more than 600m long shopping promenade. The heart of the new section is a large food court with many culinary offers. The new large-scale tenants include among others a Rewe grocery store, Intersport Voswinkel and a Budnikowsky drug store. All in all, the "Hamburger Meile" presents on approx. 50,000sqm of sales area more than 150 shops, service and gastronomy businesses.

In the past 22 months, the shopping center, which was constructed in 1970 at the Hamburger Straße street, has been modernized and reconstructed from scratch for around 200m euros. The CEO of ECE, Alexander Otto: "The Hamburger Meile is a prime example for the successful revitalization of a shopping center rich of traditions. It is setting new trends – also for many other aged shopping centers all over Germany."
