Europe's market leader ECE succeeds again
Commendation for Alstertal-Einkaufszentrum, Hamburg
Worldwide attention for Galeria Krakowska in Krakow, Poland: At its European Conference in Amsterdam, the „International Council of Shopping Centers“ (ICSC) has given the “European Shopping Center Award 2008” to Galeria Krakowska. The center which was developed and realized by ECE Projektmanagement earned the renown prize in the „New Developments: Large“ category. A total of five shopping centers received a European Shopping Center Award. An additional success for ECE is the commendation of Alstertal-Einkaufszentrum in Hamburg in the „Extensions and Refurbishments“ category.
ICSC honoured Galeria Krakowska particularly for its constructional innovation. Amongst others, the council praised the “new architectonic standards” the center was setting in Poland. The gallery has two roof-covered shopping malls and three plazas that represent themes characteristic of Krakow. It is directly linked with the train station. Furthermore, Galeria Krakowska is the heart of the urban development project “Nowe Miasto”: Further hotels, bureaus and apartments will be created around the gallery in the next few years.
For developers of shopping centers the ICSC-Award has the same significance as the “Oscar” for the motion picture industry. It rewards exceptional achievements in the field of shopping center development. “The award proves that we value top quality also in our international expansion”, says Alexander Otto, CEO of ECE.
