05/19/2008: ECE Takes Over Allianz CenterManagement GmbH

Strategic partnership with Allianz – new subsidiary manages 11 centers

ECE of Hamburg, Germany, is taking over Allianz CenterManagement GmbH (ACM), with head offices in Stuttgart; ACM was previously held by Allianz Immobilien GmbH. In future, the company will do business under a new name and will be an organisationally independent, wholly-owned subsidiary within the ECE Group.

With this change, the European shopping-center market leader is taking over one of the industry's most important companies in Germany. Currently, ECE has 97 centers under management, and ACM 11, with a total of some 80 employees. To date, ACM has managed properties that include such renowned shopping galleries as the Europa Passage and Hanse Viertel in Hamburg, Königsbau Passagen in Stuttgart, Sophienhof in Kiel or the Kröpeliner Tor Center in Rostock. The deal involves a total leasable area of more than 440,000 m2. The new company will have its head office in Hamburg, which is also the head-office location for the current company. There are no plans for the elimination of jobs.
