Development concept for the historic district of Kiel
Today, ECE Hamburg has presented a development concept for the historic district of Kiel. Major elements of this concept include a new philharmonic hall located at the Firth of Kiel, the connection of the historic district to the waterside, the accentuation of a northern city gate in the form of a five star hotel with an adjoining congress center as well as a modern retail magnet. The concept has been presented in Kiel by Alexander Otto, CEO of ECE: "Finally there is a vision for Kiel that can actually be turned into reality. For decades, several attempts to reorganize the historic district, to connect it to the inner city and make it possible for people to experience the city’s waterside have been unsuccessful. This new holistic approach represents a historic chance for the city of Kiel“, states Otto.
