ECE becomes partner of ÖBB for Vienna Central Station +++
German shopping center developer wins tender
At the real estate fair EXPO REAL in Munich, ÖBB-Immobilienmanagement GmbH and ECE Projektmanagement GmbH have signed today contracts for project development, leasing and management of BahnhofCity (central railway station) in Vienna. ECE has won the 3-step-tender for the optimization of project development as well as for the realization of BahnhofCity. As expert partner, ECE is now responsible for finding the right tenant mix and leasing out the shops of the retail and service center planned at Vienna central station. The company also takes over the long term management. As European market leader for inner-city shopping centers, ECE will be a strong expert partner for ÖBB.
Vienna Central Station will provide more than only transportation: Starting in 2009, the new “BahnhofCity” will be constructed – a retail and service center with a sales area of more than 20,000 sqm. “We want to offer our clients at Vienna Central Station a broad range of products and services – a perfect complement to the new city quarter which will be developed in this area”, says Claus Stadler, CEO of ÖBB Immobilienmanagement GmbH.
ECE, already expert partner for BahnhofCity Wien West, won the pan-European tender initiated by ÖBB-Infrastruktur Bau AG. „We are very glad that we are now engaged in two important train stations for ÖBB. Our common goal is to create attractive stations which satisfy the wish for rail journeys as well as for shopping”, explains Alexander Otto, CEO of ECE.
