Sur Yapı Marka in Bursa: New shopping center in Turkey opened today

ECE takes over management and leasing

The new Sur Yapı Marka shopping center in Bursa, Turkey, opened its doors for the first time today. The center accommodates a total of 250 shops on a leasable area of 75.000 m². It is part of a mixed-use real estate development that also includes several office and residential buildings. The shopping center also comprises 35 cafés and restaurants, a food court with a seating capacity for 1,400 people, and a large outside terrace area.  1,800 parking spaces are available for visitors and the center is also directly connected to the subway and bus network of the city. Approximately 3,000 jobs will be created by the shopping center. The project is a joint investment of the Turkish investors Sur Yapı, a member of the Sur group of companies, and Ekart Gayrimenkul. The investment volume for the entire complex amounts to €600 million. ECE has carried out the concept optimization for Sur Yapı Marka shopping center and is responsible for the long-term management and leasing.

Sur Yapı Marka offers an attractive branch and tenant mix with a large variety of international and Turkish brands, many of which debut in Bursa. The merchandise mix at the center focuses on fashion and sports and therefore it accommodates renowned brands such as the Inditex labels Zara, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Pull&Bear, Zara Home, and Oysho as well as Benetton, Beymen Club, Calzedonia, Damat, DeFacto, Derimod, Elle, Greyder, Guess, Intimissimi, Koton, Lacoste, LCWaikiki, Mavi, and Network. The sports retailers include strong brands such as Adidas, Hummel, Intersport, Lescon, Nike, Reebok, and Skechers. Further brands premiering in Bursa are Timberland, North Face, Napapijri, O Bag, Sunglass Hut, a Colombia concept store, and Lokum Atölyesi. The food court hosts both Turkish and international F&B retailers such as Starbuck’s, Burger King, and KFC. Sur Yapı Marka will also feature a Migros supermarket, a Boyner department store, a large kid’s playground, and the first IMAX theatre (Cinemaximum) in the city. In addition, the popular French sporting goods retailer Decathlon will open its very first store in Bursa at the center in summer.

Bursa is a major city in Western Turkey, located approximately 90 kilometers from Istanbul, and has more than 2.9 million inhabitants. The city is a major automotive manufacturing location and popular tourist destination in Turkey, which is well-known for its skiing resorts, nearby Uludağ National Park, thermal baths as well as lakes, waterfalls, and caves.
