ECE foodservice expert Jonathan Doughty earns “Man of the Year 2017” award

ACROSS magazine grants retail real estate award for the first time / ECE launches “We Love Food” blog and further social media activities

Foodservice expert and recently appointed Head of Foodservices at ECE, Jonathan Doughty received the inaugural “Man of the Year 2017” award, which honors outstanding personalities of the European real estate industry. The award was presented by the retail real estate magazine ACROSS, which will present the award annually, starting this year. Jonathan Doughty was honored as a special personality of the industry for his innovative, visionary spirit and for his ongoing effort to integrate more and high-quality foodservices in shopping centers. Being an internationally renowned and experienced foodservices expert, he joined ECE as Global Head of Foodservice in July 2017. His main task is to strategically advance the foodservices on offer in ECE-managed shopping centers, create new food areas, and bring in innovative food concepts.

Jonathan Doughty, originally being a skilled chef, became known as the founder and Global Managing Director of Coverpoint Foodservice Consultants in the UK in 1993. The company was acquired by Jones Lang LaSalle in 2014 with Jonathan holding the position as Head of EMEA Foodservice Consulting until he joined ECE in July 2017. During his career, he has planned, conceived, and consulted on a large number of outstanding foodservice projects in European shopping centers.

“I’m very pleased to receive this award which I gladly accept not only for myself, but on behalf of the entire foodservice industry,” said Jonathan Doughty, Global Head of Foodservice at ECE, who was honored with the “Man of the Year 2017”. “To me, this award shows that the foodservice sector has been fully accepted by the real estate industry and deemed important to create true locations and an emotional experience.”
