Declaration on barrier-free accessibility
The ECE Group GmbH & Co. KG is committed to ensuring digital barrier-free accessibility for people with disabilities. We continuously improve usability for all and apply the appropriate accessibility standards.
This digital accessibility statement applies to ece.com.
We strive to make our website barrier-free in accordance with national legislation implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council. The technical requirements for barrier-free accessibility are set out in the Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV Barrierefreie-Informationstechnik-Verordnung) 2.0.
According to § 2 BbgBITV, it is assumed that websites are barrier-free if the requirements of the harmonized European standard (EN) 301 549 (in the current version) are met. EN 301 549 refers to the requirements of the international standard Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) with conformance levels A and AA. These requirements form the core of the testable success criteria.
When was the barrier-free declaration created?
This declaration was initially created on 03.04.2025 and was updated on 02.07.2025. The declaration is revised on an ongoing basis.

- Contrast-optimized colour design: The ECE colors have been adapted to take barrier-free accessibility into account and meet the contrast requirements in accordance with the applicable guidelines.
- Semantic navigation: All navigation areas of the website are semantically correctly labeled to enable a clear structure and orientation.
- Focus concept: A consistent focus concept has been developed to ensure that interactive elements are clearly recognizable and reliably accessible via keyboard.
- Tab order: The tab order of all interactive elements was defined according to the focus concept to ensure logical and intuitive keyboard navigation.
- Skip links: Skip links have been added to allow direct skipping of recurring navigation elements and quick access to main content.
- ARIA concept: A structured concept for the use of ARIA attributes was developed to supplement the semantic structure and interactivity in a targeted manner.
- ARIA implementation: The defined ARIA attributes were implemented according to the concept in order to improve comprehensibility and usability for assistive technologies.
- Optimized form messages: We have revised the feedback in our forms to make them clearer, easier to understand and more accessible for all users.
- Barrier-free slider components: Our slider elements have been reviewed and adapted so that they are also easy to use with a keyboard and screen reader.
- Contacting us made easy: The contact form has been adapted so that error messages in the input fields are now clearly understandable and simplify intuitive use.
- Recognition of foreign languages: Technical terms and foreign words are provided with the appropriate language markup in the system so that screen readers can read them out correctly.
