Security in our centers

The safety of our center visitors is our top priority. With modern and operational concepts, we ensure this for around 4.1 million visitors to all our centers every day.

Cooperation with security authorities and aid organizations

The security managers at the shopping centers are in constant contact with local and regional security authorities such as the police and fire department, as well as security contacts in the district or country. In this way, the centers are constantly informed about new security guidelines and can work together with the authorities in a targeted and effective manner. In the event of a crisis, we work closely with various social contacts and aid organizations.

Safe in case of fire: It goes without saying that all technical systems are regularly inspected by the authorities. In addition, all centers carry out regular fire protection and evacuation drills, which usually take place in cooperation with the authorities and are evaluated afterwards.

Order makes life easier and more relaxed. All our shopping centers have house and parking regulations to give you a better overview.

Do you have questions about security? The staff at the customer information desk or the center management and the external security services on site are your direct contacts. The Center Management and the Technical Manager are responsible for the secure operation of our centers in cooperation with external security services and authorities.

The employees in our centers receive regular training on various security topics. Through training, evacuation exercises, tenant circulars and personal discussions, center management employees and tenant partners are regularly made aware of the issue of "safety in the center".

Despite all caution and compliance with applicable regulations, accidents and mishaps cannot be completely avoided. As an operator, we deal with this openly and work intensively with authorities, manufacturers and chartered surveyors. We are constantly striving to make our centers even safer and to minimize the residual risk as far as possible.

In the event of an evacuation of the center, the building security group is deployed. Each shopping center has such a group made up of volunteers from the store tenants and is supported by employees under management. At least 20 of these helpers must be on standby at all times.

Our shopping centers are among the safest places imaginable. The atmosphere of the managed areas (bright, clean, air-conditioned) keeps criminals away, so that robberies or assaults are extremely rare.

The installation of video cameras is exclusively for the safety of our customers and visitors to the shopping center, as well as the retailers and employees working in the center. The camera sites and the areas covered by the cameras (pay machines, lockers, delivery/escape routes) comply with the principles agreed with the relevant data protection authorities. The camera recordings are not analyzed and are automatically overwritten at short intervals (usually 48 hours).
