ECE in China
In 2013, a team from our Architecture and Construction division set off for China with the original aim of gaining new experience and knowledge in this dynamic market. Parallel to rapid urban growth, there is an immense need for supply infrastructure there, including in the form of malls, which function like small districts as part of the urban space. What began with exchanges with well-known Chinese players and shopping center developers such as "Vanke" and "Longfor" soon led to the first planning and implementation orders for our ECE architects.
Foundation of ECE Shanghai CO, LDT.
In order to meet the rapidly increasing order situation, we founded our own company in China in 2019 - ECE Shanghai Co., Ltd., in which an internationally experienced team of ECE architects and Chinese "young talents" now provide planning services for more than 60 shopping centers. Special features include interior design and storytelling.
Our ambitious goals
With this guiding principle and its realization, "ECE Shanghai Co., Ltd." as an international design service provider is already one of the top five shopping center designers in China. Our long-term goal is to establish ourselves among the top five - and to support numerous other Chinese shopping center developers and investors with our many years of expertise in the conception, planning stage and design of shopping centers and to incorporate the knowledge gained there into our European shopping centers - always with the aim of achieving the greatest possible attractiveness for the customers in the centers.
When points of sales become points of experience
With unusual concepts and surprising offers, the Chinese malls form an integral part of the city as third places. The centers developed by ECE Shanghai Co, Ltd. create a unique character as a brand that appeals to the city's residents: from the flower-like design of the atriums in the "Longfor Paradise Walk" as a reminiscence of the flower poems typical of the city of Chengdu to the tree house treasure hunt for visitors in the "Qibao Vanke Plaza" - "Points of Sales" become "Points of Experiences", which, in addition to a wide range of shopping and Gastronomy offers, impress above all with entertainment and edutainment offers. The centers are thus points of contact for different needs - true to the motto: "One stop, all done."
