ALDI NORD EXPANDS CITY CENTER LOCATIONS AND COOPERATES WITH CENTER OPERATOR ECE FOR NEW LOCATIONS

ALDI Nord and ECE Marketplaces have intensified their cooperation. The discounter will operate stores in centers of the European market leader for shopping centers at a perspective of eleven locations in the west, north and east of Germany.

In this way, ALDI Nord is systematically pressing ahead with its strategy of being a basic supplier close to where people live and work. The basis for this is provided by a framework agreement with ECE, which was concluded in summer 2021. "The contractual framework helps us a lot in our expansion to attractive city center locations. We are pleased to have a strong partner in ECE Marketplaces, which has such locations in its portfolio," says Ulf Klett, who is responsible for the Business Partner Portfolio and strategic partnerships at ALDI Immobilienverwaltung.

"For the strategic further development of our center portfolio, the further strengthening of local supply competence is an important building block, especially for neighborhood centers, which also serve as providers and central contact points in the district centers. The expansion of our good and constructive cooperation with ALDI Nord as a basic supplier makes a very important contribution to this," says Steffen Eric Friedlein, Managing Director Leasing Services at ECE Marketplaces.

In figures, this means: In 2021, six new leases have already been signed on the basis of the framework agreement. Two more location agreements are planned for 2022 and three more for 2023. "Among them are five new ALDI locations, which will allow us to optimize and expand our store network," says Klett.
