We are responding to the growing demand for affordable housing in major European cities with a wide range of residential concepts that are geared towards the needs of future tenants and owners. Our portfolio ranges from affordable and subsidized residential properties to individual apartments. In this asset class, too, we think about our product from the user's perspective and focus on developing intelligent and affordable floor plans. A type house developed by us makes it possible to manage rising construction costs without sacrificing quality.

People today are much more mobile than ever before. The demand for living space and comfort is very much dependent on the respective living situation. However, the desire to live in central and well-connected locations at affordable rents remains. This is possible, for example, in modern build-to-rent residential developments such as those we operate in Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester in the UK. Cornerstones of our ESG Code: We develop real estate with a max. CO2 emission of 20 kg/m², aim to be at least 10% above the legal building standards and strive for a value of 300 kg C02/m² in the reduction of "gray emissions".

Düsseldorf: Sustainable apartments instead of offices

In Düsseldorf, ECE Work & Live is planning to convert a former office property into an attractive and sustainable residential building with around 150 modern tenants or condominiums with high-quality energy standards. The three-part building from the 1970s is centrally located near the zoo park. Completions are scheduled for 2027/28.

In the heart of London’s West End, we are developing and implementing, together with Art-Invest Real Estate and Dukelease, a residential project with 88 high quality condominiums, 15 subsidized apartments, and 3,500 m² of retail space. The project is scheduled for completion in 2021. With this joint venture project, we are gaining further valuable experience in the British market and at the same time contributing our extensive know-how in the development of properties.

Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester – in these three economically strong cities in England, we are contributing our many years of experience and expertise in property and asset management and, with the acquisition of 2,100 residential units from the British build-to-rent developer and manager Dandara, expanding our residential activities in the United Kingdom. The centrally located and fully equipped apartments of various sizes and with modern furnishings combine the service and comforts of a hotel with that home-like feeling and offer their residents numerous services, such as a fitness center, co-working areas, and community events.

In Leeds, which is considered the second largest legal services center outside of London and is also an important banking city, with Leodis Square we offer build-to-rent apartments in a first-class central location. The Chapel Wharf, which we operate and lease, is located in the northern English business metropolis of Manchester. FREEPORT: Condominiums with a view of the Elbe

Together with STRABAG Real Estate (SRE), we have realized a three-part building ensemble in the heart of Hamburg’s HafenCity. It consists of the 70-meter-high office tower, WATERMARK, the seven-storey office building, SHIPYARD, and the residential building, FREEPORT. FREEPORT has a total of 46 condominiums that have an unobstructed view of the Elbe, all of which are furnished with balconies.

Urban development project Mitte Altona Hamburg

Together with our partners, we have developed “Mitte Altona”, which is comprised of 1,600 apartments on a former railway site in Hamburg. After HafenCity, Mitte Altona is the second largest urban development project in Hamburg. In addition to residential buildings with subsidized and rental apartments, as well as condominiums, the new district includes a park, local squares, day-care centers, and a school.

TIDE Hamburg: Residential in a prime HafenCity location

The new TIDE mixed-use building ensemble in Hamburg's HafenCity is growing in height: around 600 high-quality owner-occupied and rental apartments are being built in a central premium location between the Elbe and Baakenhafen. Other components of the ensemble include a hall of residence for around 370 students and apprentices as well as the UBS Digital Art Museum. There will also be a daycare center, commercial space and Gastronomy.

Freising: Takeover and continuation of a housing project

In Freising near Munich, ECE Work & Live has taken over the "Anger Quartier" residential project development for a total of 118 condominiums with around 10,000 m² of residential space and will continue the developments, which have already begun, until its completion in 2026. The buildings will be executed to the Efficiency House 55 standard and the energy supply will be provided by the district's own combined heat and power plant.
